PUF Principles

Stewardship

We believe responsible planning and managing resources is a foundation for national development. South Sudan has various resources (human, minerals, water, land, and forest) that need proper planning and management. Since the current government officials abandoned their stewardship role, South Sudanese resources are being stolen in broad daylight.

Inclusivity

We believe that the presence of a policy that helps the government provide equal access to opportunities and resources for people regardless of their tribes, region, political affiliation, belief, physical and intellectual abilities, and gender is a foundation for peaceful coexistence among the people.

Liberty

We believe in all forms of freedom, including freedom from arbitrary or despotic government control, freedom from external or foreign rule, freedom of expression, freedom of conscience, and freedom of choice

Transparency and Accountability

We believe that transparency is a prerequisite of accountability because there should be information accessibility for an action to be appropriately evaluated. Accountability cannot be proven if there is a denial of information access. We believe transparency and accountability are necessary conditions for good management, and transparency would result in better governance, more accountability, and less corruption. We believe high levels of corruption and poor quality of public services in South Sudan require accountability.
